UV printing bonds UV-cured ink to brushed aluminium under a clear protective layer, with a 1 mm unprinted border around the edge to prevent chipping from metal-on-metal contact. UV ink is sturdy and durable, but how much surface wear shows up depends on use — this is an everyday-use item, not an ornament on a shelf.
